Intelligent Mechatronic Systems (IMS) combines basic and specialised knowledge from the fields of mechanics, electronics and computer science. Students acquire practical and interdisciplinary competences in mechatronics and an introduction to artificial intelligence. This enables them to understand, design, analyse and improve intelligent mechatronic systems in a team. IMS builds the bridge between Mechatronics and Artificial Intelligence. For this reason, our students learn how to solve technical tasks through an interdisciplinary approach.

Content

In the course of your studies you will gain an understanding of the functionality of modern mechatronic and robotic systems while studying bilingual.

The programme is oriented on the components of modern mechatronic systems, i.e sensors, actors, information technology, communication technology and basic AI principles.

During the basic studies you will learn all the necessary basics in the fields of mathematics, computer science, physics, electrical and mechancial engineering. Even though the programme language is English, you have also the opportunity to improve your German language skills with an obligatory intensive German course.

In the advanced study period, students specialize according to their preferences and strengths and further deepen their knowledge in control systems, data science and Industrial Internet of Things.

You will conclude your studies with a Bachelor's thesis, which is often conducted in the strong local, world-wide oriented industry.

With us you will learn in a practical way and make contacts with the industry during your studies.

Career Prospects

Due to the growing automation degree in the industry, the demand for well-qualified engineers for the control of machines, application of industrial robots and the development of new mechatronic systems will increase further.

As the "region of world-market leaders", the Heilbronn-Franken area is proud to provide a highly dynamic and attractive environment with optimal possibilites for your career entry and advancement. Thanks to their broad technical knowledge and wide practical experience, our graduates can choose from many different job opportunities, both in the region and worldwide.
